2010 Business Opportunities Workshop

With activity for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games centred on large-scale projects in the Lower Mainland and Whistler, many businesses across British Columbia (B.C.) may think they are too distant or too small to get a piece of the action. But with a little imagination and a few lessons in technique, businesses from any community in B.C. can put together a bid for Games-related opportunities.

The 2010 Commerce Centre has organized a series of workshops across the province to help businesses figure out how to seek opportunities and financial rewards from the Games. The sessions offer information about how to bid for contracts to provide products and services, as well as ideas for working in partnerships or as subcontractors for companies who win the bigger contracts. To date, more than one hundred workshops have been delivered to over 4,000 individuals and organizations all across British Columbia.

The intent of the workshop is to connect the business community with the business opportunities of the 2010 Winter Games. Designed to prepare companies for business opportunities surrounding the 2010 Winter Games (before, during and after 2010), the 2010 Business Opportunities Workshop covers the following topics:
