Meet the Buyer Information Sessions
The Meet the Buyer program is an ongoing series of information sessions that offers British Columbia (B.C.) companies the opportunity to meet Games-related buyers of goods and services. These events are usually held for specific business opportunities (often taking the form of a formal Request for Proposals or a specific buyer demand), but can also be informal 'meet-and-greets'. These events provide a special venue for suppliers to be introduced personally to these organizations' decision-makers as they detail both their specific needs and the best way to do business with them.
In addition to developing relationships with buyers, the events are also aimed at encouraging companies to develop relationships with potential corporate partners around an opportunity or within their industry sector. Many challenging Games-related contracts are being won by companies that have engaged in innovative partnerships or sub-contracting arrangements.
Invite lists are developed in cooperation with each individual buyer. Most events are opened to any relevant company, and event information is often publicly circulated through appropriate industry associations, events calendar, and specific bid documents. However, it should be noted that most attendees are invited through their membership in the 2010 Business Network. To become a member of the 2010 Business Network, businesses need to enrol online with the 2010 Commerce Centre.
Participation in the Meet the Buyer program gives your company its best chance of taking full advantage of the 2010 Winter Games and prospering in the years to follow. Sign up today for the 2010 Business Network to ensure you receive your invitation.
